Ultimately, what is FSC®?

FSC provides a connection between the forest and the end user, ensuring that products with the FSC label uphold principles and criteria which bring the highest social and environmental benefits.

FSC certification can positively impact workers and communities, shift governance processes globally and change economic and environmental conditions in the forest. This impact improves conditions such as conflict over land tenure and use, worker’s health and safety, biodiversity conservation, protection of endangered species and participatory forest policy.

By working on promoting environmentally and socially beneficial forest management, FSC helps both local communities and society in general to enjoy long-term benefits of managing forests in a responsible way. As the world’s most respected forest certification scheme, FSC is a global system with certificates issued in all forest types around the world.

PEFC Certification

Dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management, supported by independent third parties certification, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is committed to conserve forests and their valuable biodiversity, and support communities and families who own, work and live in the forests and around them.

PEFC promotes Chain of Custody certification, which outlines requirements for tracking certified material from the forest to the final product to ensure that the wood contained in the product or product line originates from certified forests.
